On 04 June 2020, the Pakistan Navy (PN) announced through social media that Istanbul Naval Shipyard (INSY) laid the keel for the first Pakistan Navy (PN) MILGEM corvette. According to the PN, senior military officials attended the keel-laying ceremony.
